Time flies when you're having fun.

Hi.

My vacation in the Czech Republic is slowly coming to an end: on Monday we will start our journey home! Not right away though: we'll spend the night in Stockholm on our way back.

It's been quite a lovely 2 weeks. There's been some slight boredom, but most of my time here was filled with enjoyable activities and meeting family members that I didn't even know existed.

It'll be nice to be home too, though! I'll have more interesting things to post on here, too: a shop log (because I've bought tons of stuff here, oh gosh), a nailpolish post (haven't properly polished my nails since I came here..), and in no time there'll be some back to school things coming up, too.. Yay?

For now I'll leave you with a few pictures.

Bye for now, I'll be back soon!

Vacation

I am currently sat in a little house in a tiny village in the Czech Republic. We traveled to Prague first, and stayed there from Monday until Wednesday, and after that we went to visit family. We'll stay here for ten more days, and will then return to Sweden.
It is lovely to see family for a while. It's a bit crazy too, though, at least 12 people around at any time! That's part of the experience I suppose.
When we come back, I'll have some more free time, and on the 22nd of this month school will start again. Excited!!

Freeeedom.

Friday was my last day of working at daycare! Since then I've slept over at a friend's twice, hung out with another friend once, and started playing League of Legends...! Went shopping too, bought a new calendar and reunited with my favorite perfume!

Today's my mother's birthday, we're going to celebrate by going to the musical Shrek with the whole family, should be fun.

Here's some photos to give a general idea of my past few days!

So glad I finally get to enjoy my vacation, and I'm doing so to the fullest!! Now, it's time to get up and take a look at the clothes that I ordered which just arrived, hehehe. Goodbye for now!

Yup.

Yesterday was a long, long day.
My brother and I woke up at 6 AM to go for a run. Dedication, man.
Work from 8.30 -17.00, and hairdresser at 17.15. Turns out that 'Just the split ends, please.' means 15 cm (NOT EVEN KIDDING RIGHT NOW OKAY) in hairdresser language. Tears.
After this drama, I took the bus to the city where I hung out with my homie, drank cola at a badass bar, listened to music, laughed at birds, and ate icecream without spoons. I had the greatest time, honestly loved it!
casually waiting for the bus

Back home around 10.30 PM, time for bed right away because 6 AM run and 7.30 - 15.00 workday. Whew.

No impressive post, but I thought I'd post a little update anyway! Bye now.

Work.

As I have mentioned a while back, I have a job where I transcribe written scientific articles into spoken text. Every week, I am expected to finish at least ten such articles. This week, I've only done four... Therefore, this fairly dark and rainy day will be spent at my desk.
Oh well, money has to be made sometimes! Luckily my brother and I went on our run this morning (it may or may not become a routine..!) so I've gotten at least a bit of fresh air.

Well, break's over, back to work for me!

Happy summer solstice!

Ah, what a perfect day. Started it off by going for a run with my brother - which went better than expected so I'm proud! - and cleaning my room, which now looks great.
After this, I took the liberty of sitting in the sun with a book and a half-written letter. When this got boring, I decided to polish my nails!

Currently waiting for them to dry so that I can get a popsicle from the fridge.
I've run out of semi-interesting things to say, so that'll be all for now.

Have a good summer solstice!

Business.

Oh my, what a busy time I've had so far this summerbreak. Monday I started my summer job at a daycare center. Turns out little kids love me, and I'm not particularly a fan of theirs.
The job is SO BORING. All I do all day is play with the kids, and when that's not an option I just awkwardly sit and watch them play, as I am not allowed to use my phone or anything (I got yelled at, one of my very first days, it was an unpleasant experience)...
Things that do make it worth it, however, are having some cute kid falling asleep on you, being taken somewhere with a child hanging on to your thumb for dear life, and having little boys crushing on you (look at the little bouquet I received!)
Doesn't that just make you melt?
Besides daycare I've had a lovely time. The weather is really nice, and I have talked to my friends a lot. Nothing superspecial quite yet this summer, but I've got the feeling that interesting things are about to happen!

Tomorrow I've got the day off from work because in Sweden the summer solstice is celebrated nationally. I'm hoping to find something to do tomorrow, but we'll see! One thing that will happen, is that me and my brother are going for a run in the morning. That should be interesting, seeing how I have no stamina whatsoever...

Well, I'm off doing useful stuff now. Hopefully my summer will continue the way it is right now (minus the boring job part, that is), and may yours be even better.

Summer!<3

Hello lovelies!

I finally have my last day of school behind me. Spent the morning feeling awkward with my friends Danny & William because we were the only three dressed up for the occasion (as in: full suits for them & a dress for me) so we stuck together as the three musketeers! After some lousy entertainment, we went to our mentor groups and had some final words (and pictures!), and then it was finally time to go home! I didn't cry, felt accomplished.

After taking the bus home, I walked a long way in order to be at my little brother's graduation, proud of the guy!

Was going to a party later, but was honestly too tired for anything such, plus the weather was terrible. Then my friend invited me to sleep over, and I'm currently sat writing this (via my phone, oo) while him and his brother are playing fifa, after we shot some stuff with an airthing.

Crazy to think that this schoolyear is officially over! No more school until the 22th of August now.

Hope you're also having a great Friday!

Who I am now.

Hello!

I just found my blog again, and feel very much ashamed for abandoning it.
A lot has changed in the past 1.5 year, so it might be of use for me to introduce myself again.

My name is Eva, I am 17 years old and I (still) live in Sweden. Tomorrow I will have finished the first out of my three years of studying the IB (International Baccalaureate) Programme, and that will give me time for the other important things in my life: I namely have a job, and a new hobby!

I work for Shawn Maloney, a vision researcher, as a linguistic transcriber - that is what I call my job at least, hopefully that is the right term - where my job is to read research papers out loud and record them, in order for them to be listened to and thereby help the research.
My new hobby is playing the drums! I've wanted to play for a long time, and about 2 months ago I finally got started. So far I have only had 6 classes, and because of summerbreak I won't have any more classes until the end of August, but it's been a great experience so far! I even started playing in a band.. Our singer cannot sing, out guitarist can't really play the guitar, and as I said I've only just started playing the drums... Luckily our base player is awesome. It's a fun thing to be part of, even if we're not quite good (or even acceptable) yet!

Some oher things that have happened since I last posted on my blog, are that my boyfriend and I broke up, I had a new relationship that didn't last long, and after that there's been a few dates here and there, but nothing notorious. I did, however, meet tons of new people, and I have made a lot of new friends whom I love! I now have a clearer view of what the coming years of my life might look like, which is a very nice feeling.
I feel like I have grown a lot as a person since 2012, and I am grateful for all the opportunities I have had (and taken!). A lot of positive things have come my way, and I enjoy life a lot more now that I used to.

There also are some things that have not changed, though. I still very much enjoy polishing my nails, I wear thick eyeliner as always, and I still have the same awkward sense of humor. Danai and I still religiously send each other letters every month, and even though I have only seen her twice since I've moved, we are close as ever!

Now I believe it is time to share a few pictures to give you an idea of what my life is currently like.

Some of my more recent creations.

Schoolwork...

...and the people making the work bearable!
My dogs, a lot bigger but cute as ever.
Isn't it gorgeous?

And finally, two pictures of me.

Well, I believe these are the most important things that I want to share with you today. I'm hoping to remember to update my blog more frequently from now on, as a type of memoir I'd say.

Hopefully you've enjoyed this post to some extent! Have a lovely day.

OPI Ski Teal We Drop

I was going through my blog the other day, and then I noticed something. I have never written an article on the nailpolish that I used most: my beautiful Ski Teal We Drop! I decided to do something about this.

Of course it's hard to show the color on picture, but it is a lovely teal.
The polish is of amazing quality - of course, it's OPI after all - and it's nearly opaque after the first layer. The brush is broad yet precise, just the way I like it.

I've had it for more than a year, and the pasts months I've used it frequently: I'd say it's my default nailpolish, always a good choice.
I bought it for €15 at Sephora in Den Bosch, Holland.

Although I've used the polish quite a lot, it's still nearly full. However, if I ever get to the bottom, I just might buy another bottle. Love it!

This post is written via the Blogger app I wrote about earlier, so I hope it turns out allright.
Have a great day!

Blogger

Yes. I have now installed the Blogger app on my ipod, so that in case my laptop refuses to work with me again, I can post the nailpolish pictures etc from here instead
That is all. =)

Questions

Bonjour!
I have just painted my nails and taken pictures. I cannot upload them though, as my laptop has decided that it very much dislikes the picture-part of itself. Such a selfconcious little thing.
That's why I decided to tell you guys some more about myself instead. Why not, right? =)
I found those questions on buzzle.com, in case you wondered.
Here we go:

  • What is your name?
    Eva Lazar.
  • How old are you?
I am 16 years old. Yup.
  • When is your birthday? or which zodiac sign do you belong to?
The ninth of November, so I'm a Scorpio!
  • Where do you live?
In Sweden, as you probably have read already.
  • Do you have siblings? How many?
I have an older sister and a younger brother.
  • What is your favorite food?
This is a tough one.... Can't be bothered to think right now, so I'll just go for pizza!
  • What is your favorite drink?
I drink water a lot... In case the question meant alcoholic drinks, I'd have to say martinis.
  • What is your favorite color? Turquoise.
  • Who is your best friend?
I actually have three: Danai, Joyce and Kenny.
  • What is your favorite book?
Another hard one! I'll just say that the Harry Potter books are loved.
  • Who is your favorite actor?
    Rowan Atkinson. Don't judge.
  • What is the best thing that has ever happened to you?
I'd have to say being born.
  • What is the most embarrassing moment of your life?
So many to choose from... Probably when I was playing basketball, tripped and hit a wall in the comic-figure way. Completely with the sliding down.
  • What is your biggest regret in life?
Again, I have way too many of those... I'd have to say taking my ipod with me when I was walking the dogs, that time that its screen cracked.
  • What career do you plan to pursue?
Not sure yet, there are so many options! I've been thinking about management, psychiatry and interior design a lot the past months though.
  • If you had one word to describe yourself , what would it be?
    Awkward.
  • Which is your favorite dessert?
    Lemon icecream. I think.
  • Which is your dream car/bike?
Lamborghini! I'll have one of those once i'm rich.
  • If you could travel to anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I'd travel to Spain, via Holland.
  • What is the worst relationship you have ever been in?
I've only really had two, with the same guy. Both were/are rather amazing, so I think I'll just pass this question!
  • What is your favorite pastime?
    Sleeping. Love it.

Those were the normal ones, now let's continue with some funny ones:
  • What's your favorite midnight snack?
Water. I never dare to go downstairs at night.... However, I tend to eat licorice at night when I have the flu.
  • Do you eat junk food everyday?
Nope. I think every month would be more accurate. Unless candy etc counts as junkfood of course!
  • What is the one food that you would never give up?
    Is olive oil a food..?
  • What's your favorite horror movie?
The Nonexistent. I HATE horror movies.
  • Do you like to sing in the shower?
Sure, but I never do as I', afraid someone might hear me.
  • What is your weirdest quirk?
I tend to wave at people when they look at me.
  • Your favorite sundae topping?
    Caramel I think.
  • What is your all time funniest prank?
Doing a fistbump: apparently it hurts people as I have this ring I always wear. Hard to explain really.
  • What crazy things do you dream of trying someday?
I'd like to step into a random airplane/train someday, and spend some time in wherever I end up.
  • Do you believe in extraterrestrials and life on other planets?
Define extraterrestrials... I don't believe in the humanoid kind, but I'm fairly sure that we're not the only living creatures in the universe.

A few more, just because I'm on a roll!
  • What is the one physical feature that you get complimented on most often?
    My nails. =)
  • What are the 5 most important things in your life?
    - Friends
    - Family
    - School
    - Future
    - Happiness
  • How superstitious are you?
*googles the word superstitious* I'm not really superstitious, however I do believe that when people think negative, negative things tend to happen to them more often, and the other way around of course.
  • What is the funniest thing that has ever happened to you?
These questions are so general! I have no clue, really. I have a pretty funny life.
  • What is your one achievement that makes you the most proud?
Knowing I've never broken anyone's trust.
  • What three things would you take with you to a deserted island?
    - A boat with all gear needed
    - A map
    - Sunblock (hey, while I'm there I might as well enjoy myself a bit!)

Okay that was it! Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to open a window because these nailpolish gases are slowly killing me.

Done!!!

Finally, after nearly 8 hours of toiling (with several breaks included, of course), my room is all clean! I believe that it is fair that I now allow myself to do whatever I want for the rest of the day!
Here are some pictures for you guys.

First up: the way my room looked before I started. Not too bad really, but as I had to clean it in order to complete my homework we might as well call it messy, otherwise I feel so accomplishednessless. Which now is a word.

Next I threw all the stuff from my desk on my bed....

... And then you realize you forgot to take pictures of the messiest point. *facepalm*

Aaaanyway, this is what it all looked like when things started to get better!

And now, the moment we've all been waiting for..... THE CLEAN ROOM!

Not bad, right? Unbelievable that this has taken so much effort really. Still, I'm happy that I did it because my room looks very good right now and I finished my homework. Or well, part of it: I will also have to do the laundry, clean the bathroom, do the dishes and cook for a week in order for my teacher to give me a sufficcient grade, and, seeing how she hates me, it still won't be a high grade. Nothing to be done about it I guess!

This was it for today, hope you guys enjoyed my mind-numbing posts at least a little bit, and I'll write again soon! (I think.)

xx Eva

The end is near!

Finally my room starts to look better, and I believe that I will need just one more session to finish it! Pictures are probably coming in the next post.
My nightstand is completely done, and so are two out of my three beddrawers. My desk is cluttered with stuff that I got out of my closet - which now is clean - and I'm busy sorting it. Taking a fifteen minute break, and then I'm going in for the final lap!

xx Eva

Noon.

Twelve o'clock it is. Been cleaning for fours hours now, and there are small bits of improvement!
Two boxes full of memories have been put away, as I don't need them in my room, my bed drawers (where the majority of my junk thrives) have all been emptied and cleaned, and before writing this I was busy trying to put stuff in logical categories.

Lunchtime now, I'll continue afterwards. Wow, I honestly didn't think it would take me this long! But hey, at least I can be sure that I did my job well.

xx Eva

Two hours of cleaning....

... And I have accomplished to make my mess messier. This never seems to be avoidable, but is nonetheless really demotivating. I will continue though! Up to now I have succeeded to throw everything (including my laptop, so I'm typing this while sitting on the ground) from my desk and nightstand, cleaned them (plus my chair), and now all there is on my desk is my lamp. At least one part of my journey is complete. =')

Soon I will continue, but first it's time for a second breakfast, because I know for a fact that we have grapes and I love grapes.

Probably posting pictures at the end of the day, of how my room started out and how it gradually became better untill it was all perfect.
...
A girl can dream, right?

Twelve o'clock another update will arrive!

xx Eva

Challenging myself.

Good morning darlings!

I woke up around 6.40 this morning, and I couldn't fall back asleep. That's when I started to make my to-do list for the weekend. One of the things on the list was writing an article for my blog, as that's very needed.
Then I got an idea, really random and out of nowhere: I could write an article every two hours, that way I have a load of new posts on my site, and I probably turn out to push myself to do things from my list, just so that I can share them with you guys!

I'm just going to try it, if it doesn't work that's just too bad, but if it does that'd be great, right?
First up: cleaning my room. This actually is homework, because one of my crazy teachers decided that she'd need some proof that we can do this. Do not even bother asking, I don't get it either.

Of course I'll try to post nailpolish posts, but I've been really lazy with my nailpolish lately, so not too much fancy stuff, but I'll see what I can come up with today!

That's it for now, I'll be back in two hours. Have a great day!

Happy New Year!

Yes, I do realize that we're almost halfway through our first month, but who cares? ^-^
Fireworks!
My year has started rather good, a nice long christmasbreak and lots of attempts to keep to my new year's resolutions.
Of course, my nails are part of my new year. One of my resolutions is to post every single naillook I make on here! Unfortunately the camera on my ipod isn't that great, but it's the thought that counts, or at least, that's what I tell myself.

So basically, I started this year with my French manicure from the year before.

O.P.I. Alpine Snow, Paris Memories UV-Light Topcoat
As you can see, they were a tad chipped, which is the reason that I polished them again the next day.
My nails started out like cute, short, brown nails...
.... but after painting them, I still had the polishbug, so I decided to put some nailart on them. This is what it looked like after that:

O.P.I. Natural Basecoat, HerĂ´me W.I.C. Johannesburg 72, O.P.I. Alpine Snow, O.P.I. Top Coat
It's rather hard to see, but on the side of each nail there is a white rose, and I must say that I'm very happy with the way it looks. However, tomorrow this look will be removed and it'll make place for something else. Thinking about doing a similar look, but this time the other way around; a light base color with a darker color on top. The pictures will be on here later on, so you'll see what I've decided to do by then!

Some music I discovered this year:
Say You Like Me - We The Kings
God Damn You're Beautiful - Chester See
That Girl - David Choi

Well, that was the first post of  '12, hope you enjoyed it!
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to bed. Tomorrow is another day, and I have to get up early!

Oh, and a shoutout to Danai, my best friend since forever, as I know that she's pretty much the only one reading this blog: Heel erg bedankt voor het er-altijd-zijn, de leuke brieven en herinneringen, en moge er van beide nog veel veel meer komen!

Okay, now I'm REALLY done ^-^

Life.

Long time no update, as always.
This is just a teeny tiny post to tell you guys what's up at the moment.
Today I received my first report card, it was rather good! After that I got to go home, and my christmas break officially started.
All I have been doing is talking to friends, drooling over gorgeous clothes I can't afford and listening to music, and I'm loving it!
Now I've decided to do something 'useful', which means that I'm clearing out the bookmarks I've made on the internet through time. Ought to be intresting.
So yeah, that's what is going on.
Hope you guys are doing as good as I am, and hopefully I won't be too lazy to actually put up a decent post sometimes soon!

Happy Halloween!

Bit late, I know, but yesterday I completely forgot to upload a picture of my halloween nails...
Forgive me? =)
Anyway, here it is:

Frankenstein nails! I thought it was rather creative, as I'd usually just paint my nails orange or something similar. Going to keep these nails until friday, then there is some sort of fright night close to where I live, and after that the brainbreaker 'birthday nails' is coming up... Yes people, the ninth of November, it'll be my sweet sixteen! Looking forward to it already =) Ideas for birthday nails are very welcome, in case anyone even reads this. I sure hope so!
Now it's time to do something useful.
Haha, who am I kidding, I'm just going to procrastinate and celebrate autumnbreak ^.^
