Choices choices.

Today I heard that a few of my fathers colleagues are coming over, first for work and then they'll stay with us for dinner. Then I thought, what if those people have children my age, who go to my school, or with who I will have any contact at all! That's my 'logic' again, but anyway. Of course I want to make a good first impression, and that includes cute nailpolish. Always pay attention to details right?

So, I was thinking of what I could do, and right now I have so many options that I am clueless. Here is what I'm thinking about:
- about 4 flashy colors on each nail, with black shatter on top of it
- the same as above, but then with elegant colors
- black 'nailart' on top of hot pink nailpolish
- 5 different pastel colors with nailart on it
- just one color, no fuss
- gradient nails, in pink, or purple, or red, or green and yellow, or black...

As you can see, there are just waaaaay too many things I can choose from and it's driving me crazy!
But if (IF..) I have decided in time, I will make sure that I put some pictures up :)

Short post

So, actually I wanted to post this in the previous post, but I figured that that one was long enough, so a new post. Here is what I wore on my nails before the marble nails!

Catrice Pastel Delight: C02 Pastel Blue
I really like this polish, it covers perfectly after two layers, dries rather quickly and the color makes my nails seem longer, which I really like now that they are short. Also, it's very cheap, just a few euro's! Unfortunately it was limited edition, but probably it is still sold on ebay.
Just wanted to show off this color, so this is the end of this post ;-)

Marble Nails Walkthrough

So.. I know I'm not an expert on marble nails yet (a.k.a. I've tried in twice in total now) but I just thought it would be fun to try and make a kind of walkthrough/tutorial. This is the first time I've ever done something like this, so bear with me ok?  Before we begin, my nails look horrible, rather short and.. just ugly, so just ignore that ok? Thanks ;-)

Let's begin! Here's a list of items you will need before you can start.
- nail polish remover
- a small, preferably wide bowl, which will become dirty, so make sure you have a cup you can use for only nailpolish
- toothpicks
- water, for in the cup, which I forgot to mention earlier, but I'm too lazy to change that now :)
- the three colors nailpolish you want to use
- tape (I will explain later on)
- cotton pads / q tips, preferably both
- basecoat and topcoat, those are optional but the endresult will be better
- paper towels (LOTS of them)

In this tutorial I will use:
- Hema Basecoat 01
- Paris Memories 260
- Essence 26 Break Through
- Essence 36 Enchanted Fairy
- Kruidvat Topcoat

Ok, once you have all this, here we go!
Remove your old nailpolish, and even if you didn't wear any polish before you started, it might be better to sweep a little bit of nailpolish remover over your nails, so the natural oil layer the nails have will be removed, thus making sure the polish will stay on your nails longer and it won't chip so fast.

Then apply basecoat and let it dry.
Next, apply the basecolor (on which you are going to do the nailart). Not everyone does this, but I like to do this because in that case if I miss a spot on the nail, it isn't just 'naked' but there's a color underneath.
Let this dry as well. When that is done, you have to use the tape. take a piece that's big enough to surround the upper part of your finger. This will protect it for getting nailpolish all over it.
Now the fun begins! Take your bowl of water, and put a drop of nailpolish in the water, from not too high or it will sink. When done right, the nailpolish will spread over the watersurface. Then put in a drop of the other nailpolish. Alternate with these colors untill you have some sort of a 'bullseye'.
Now take your toothpick and draw a like from the edge of the bullseye inwards, to create a flower effect (that's how I like to do it at least, but you can draw many different patterns once you have practiced some more, or of course just leave it the way is is).
Now, dip your nail carefully into this flower. Choose a point you like, and make sure your whole nail touches it. No problem if your nail goes into the water, that's normal.
After this, use a toothpick to remove the remaining nailpolish from the watersurface. You have to do this after every one or two nails, because the effect will become lighter and sheerer if you keep using one 'bullseye' for more than one nail.
This is what you have on your nail if everything went right:
Remove the tape and the nailpolish that is not on your nails from your finger, and repeat this whole process for all of your nails. Then let it dry, and apply topcoat
This is the effect once you are done:
right hand

left hand
And that's how it's done! It takes some practice, this is my second time and as you can see, there is a lot of room for improvement, but now you at least have an idea of how it could look.
I might post another nail tutorial sometime, because I recently got an idea, but I first have to see if it works.
Vague, I know, but that's because I haven't worked out the thought yet, but I wanted to promise you guys another post, so you would come back to visit my blog haha ^^

And if you don't succeed the first time.. just Start Again - Sam Tsui!  Love that song ;-)

Here's a huge post to make up for my absence!

Sorrysorrysorrysorrysorry. And if that's not enough, here's a superadorable kitten to cheer you up:
If that doesn't make you go: 'aww!', I don't know what will.

First things first: I have decided to give up The Challenge. Not because I don't want to do it anymore, but because I have decided to start saving for something else, and somehow I found the motivation to do that without any problems, so yay for me! :D
Ahem.
I know that I haven't posted in a very long time. What I have kept doing however, is making pictures of my nails! So here is a crapload of pictures! I'm honestly not sure that all of them are new, but at least most of them are :)

As you can see on the last picture, I cut my nails! Shocking! They are very short now, and I'm not used to it, but they'll be long again in no-time :)
And here, as a bonus picture, the 'easter nail-art' I did on my sister's nails. Apparently it is very hard to polish someone elses nails when you are having a laughing fit....
... See what I mean? Yeah, thought so.

Well that's all I'm going to post about nails for today. I guess. Except for if I get bored and decide to polish my nails again.

Ok, next up: music!
Recently I re-discovered a few songs, and I just. Can't. Stop. Listening! The ultimate summer songs I call them! There are two of those songs I am absolutely in love with!
First Stuck Like Glue - Sugarland
That song just really makes me happy :)
The other song I adore is Danza Kuduro - Don Omar ft. Lucenzo
Doesn't that just put you in the mood for summer and sun and beach and icecream? It really makes me want to dance, and I am a horrible dancer, so I hope this song never comes on when I'm out in public, because I might have a problem then..

Well that's all I think! I hope you all accept my apology, and if not... yeah... I don't know... Just accept it ok? Thanks ;)

And there is one last thing I'd like to conclude this post with...
The Lazy Song (Parody), The Mustache Rap, Mario and Luigi Search for the Princess
These are several of the videos made by thecomputernerd01, and these were the first three I have seen of his channel. Needless to say, I subscribed.

Oh, and I know I said: to conclude this post, but there's one final vid I want to share with you guys: Daarvoor Ben Je Mijn Vriend - Bert & Ernie
For all you Dutch readers out there, hope this cheers you up, for me it sure did! I was talking about this to a friend, she didn't know what I was talking about, I found this vid on youtube, showed her, and then I thought, hey, maybe the awesome people reading this blog will like it too! So yeah. That's pretty much why.
Ok bye now!
